Among its other reasons for being (see About Us), Antemedius is the new home and host of the Out Of Iraq Bloggers Caucus, or OOIBC - a coalition of bloggers opposed to the Iraq Occupation and the funding of it, and opposed to wars of imperialism and hegemony more generally, which began in early 2007 with the original OOIBC site that is now an archive site.
In the spring of 2007, as the battle over the Iraq War supplemental funding bill began to heat up, a group of bloggers started coming together to do what they could to help change the public mindset and move the Overton Window of political possibilities enough to bring an end to the Iraq Occupation and the hegemonic imperialism that leads to such debacles, and the result was The Out Of Iraq Bloggers Caucus, originally based on an idea by Big Tent Democrat at TalkLeft.
