At The New York Forum this morning there was a great panel on the future of America, with the likes of Thomas Friedman, Esther Dyson, and Jonathan Miller. Will it become an ordinary nation, or remain a world’s touchstone?

I don’t think I’m insulting him to say he got up and thought “I wonder what my seven competitors are going to write today.” I wake up and think, “I wonder where my 70 million competitors are going to write today?. I wonder what the best Iraqi blogger is going to write today?.”

* Thomas Loren Friedman (born July 20, 1953) is an American journalist, columnist and author. He writes a twice-weekly column for The New York Times. He has written extensively on foreign affairs including global trade, the Middle East, and environmental issues and has won the Pulitzer Prize three times.* James Barrett Reston (November 3, 1909–December 6, 1995), nicknamed "Scotty," was an American journalist whose career spanned the mid 1930s to the early 1990s. He was associated for many years with the New York Times.
توماس لورن فردمن: ولد في20 يوليو 1953 وهو صحفي وكاتب أمريكي يهودي صهيوني وهو معروف بمساندته لتسوية للصراع العربي الإسرائيلي. ولد توماس فريدمان في سانت لويس پارك. ارسل إلى مخيم يهودي حيث كان آب فوكسمان(Abe Foxman) مدربا فيه.في الثانوي كتب مقالات لجريدة المدرسة، حيث استجوب في احداها اريال شارون.
